Fulham news: Willian set to complete shock Premier League return with Marco Silva’s side
The January transfer window is closed for good, but Fulham are still looking to complete business in the market, with the return of Willian on the cards.
A free agent, the former Chelsea and Arsenal star left Olympiacos at the end of December after just six league games with the Greek side.
The Brazilian joined Fulham in the 2022/23 Premier League season, scoring five times and assisting three goals in 27 appearances.
After another season with Marco Silva’s side, he departed in September 2024 after his contract expired.
Brazilian veteran eyes return to England
The 36-year-old was in attendance at Stamford Bridge on Monday, as Chelsea defeated West Ham United 2-1 after trailing in the first half.
Fabrizio Romano, via X, claims Willian is currently in London having talks with Fulham as he seeks a return to the top flight of English football.
He later stated that he was undergoing medical tests with the West London club.
Premier League veteran
Willian enjoyed the best stint of his career with Fulham’s local rivals Chelsea, winning the Premier League twice, the FA Cup, the EFL Cup and the Europa League in his seven years with the Blues.
On the North side of London, the winger endured a less successful time, making just 37 appearances in all competitions and scoring a single goal for Arsenal.
Other reinforcements
Willian wasn’t Fulham’s only target of the window, as the club explored a deal for AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze.
A move never materialised but the Cottagers have already begun work on securing the pre-contract arrival of Fenerbahce right-back Bright Osayi-Samuel in the summer.
Fulham has a bid rejected on deadline day for Osayi-Samuel but Football Insider’s Pete O'Rourke claims Silva is keen to bring the former QPR man to Craven Cottage.
