Liverpool news: Reds set to rival Napoli for Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi

Arne Slot has filled the void left by Jurgen Klopp like a glove, as Liverpool currently sit top of the tree in the Premier League.

The Dutchman’s side are also top of the Champions League table, having won all seven matches in the European competition this season.

Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo have both hit double figures for goals this campaign, but it’s the usual suspect, Mohamed Salah, who has once again stolen all the plaudits, with an astonishing 23 goals and 17 assists in 32 matches.

Despite the Reds’ mouthwatering form in front of goal, the Merseyside club are reportedly ready to rival Serie A side Napoli for the signature of German, Karim Adeyemi, according to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport.

Who is Karim Adeyemi?

The 23-year-old is an explosive and versatile forward, who can play anywhere across the front line.

The German international joined Bundesliga club, Borussia Dortmund, in 2022 from RB Salzburg, and has since gone on to make 80 appearances for the club.

In his two-and-a-half-year stint at Dortmund, Adeyemi has scored 19 goals and contributed a further 13 assists.

Injuries have hampered the attacker’s game time this season, as Adeyemi was sidelined for nearly three months with a torn muscle fibre injury.

Linked with a move away

Italian giants Napoli have been heavily linked with the German, as they look to replace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia who joined French outfit Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month.

However, as deadline day fastly approaches, Premier League sides Liverpool and Chelsea have registered interest in the forward.

The English duo may well miss out on Adeyemi though, as they are likely to wait until the summer to make a move, as per Corriere dello Sport.

As we know, anything can happen on deadline day, so this is certainly a deal worth keeping an eye on.
